Investing in London

Why invest in London property

Few cities combine London’s global standing, legal security and depth of rental demand. It is one of the world’s two leading financial centres, home to some of its best-known universities, and a city where demand for quality rental homes continues to outstrip supply.

Crest Select has selected a small number of new-build developments in London for investors seeking reliable rental income and long-term capital value.

A global city

Two thousand years as a centre of trade

Founded by the Romans as Londinium, London grew into the hub of a global trading network, and its docks – where Canary Wharf now stands – were once among the busiest in the world.

Today the City and Canary Wharf form one of the two leading financial centres in the world, ranked second only to New York in the Global Financial Centres Index. Its time zone bridges Asian and American markets, and English law and an established property system give investors a high degree of certainty.

International demand

Trusted by investors worldwide

London has long attracted buyers from across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Overseas buyers typically account for around one in five new-build homes sold in the capital, and international interest in London has recently risen even as it has fallen elsewhere in Britain.

Rental demand

A rental market with more tenants than homes

London’s private rented sector has been shrinking while demand keeps growing, supporting rents for well-located, well-managed new homes.

Shrinking supply

Government figures show London's private rented stock fell by around 6% between 2023 and 2024.

Strong tenant demand

Each London rental home attracts several enquiries, with around eight per listing reported by Rightmove.

Students & professionals

World-class universities and global employers bring a constant flow of new tenants from overseas.

London property investment: FAQs

Yes. There are no restrictions on non-UK residents buying residential property in England. Additional stamp duty surcharges apply to buy-to-let and non-resident purchases, so independent legal and tax advice is recommended.

New-build homes are ready to let, energy efficient and usually come with a building warranty, which reduces maintenance and suits owners who live abroad.

Our current developments are in Canary Wharf, E14. Further London developments will be added – register your interest to hear first.
